X-Lite
From TalkShoe Wiki
X-Lite is a VOIP client that is perferred amongst most talkcasters thanks to it's easy usage. It's easy configuration, it's features and it's usage of the SIP protocal. It has support for SRTP and soon ZRTP and is developed by CounterPath. There are 2 versions that are mechanically and artechically different. Version 2.0 for Linux uses the old X-Pro codebase and has a diffrent interface and X-Lite 3.0 for Windows uses the eyeBeam codebase and has an interface similar to eyeBeam. X-Lite 2.0 is audio only while X-Lite 3.0 has audio, video and presence capabilities. X-Lite can be seen as sort of a trial version to eyeBeam. Having only 2 lines instead of 6 and a slightly lower quality codec instead of the higher quality codec seen on eyeBeam, it also lacks
[edit] Features
X-Lite has the ability to record a call in a low quality codec. It also has the ability to start a conversation on the two lines, though you have to use a ordinary telephone number to use the conversation feature. You can also flash to another line in an instant. There is also a speaker-phone feature which allows you to use an external device to speak. You can also dial SIP by using the prefix "sip:" and you can also dial an ordinaty telephone number if your provider allows it. X-Lite also supports STUN servers and allows for deep customization for your VOIP needs. It can also be minimized to the task bar to prevent the interface from interfearing. It also has a video function to allow you and one other person to communicate with each other.
