Shortcuts are a type or redirection page that uses a acronyms or a single word to redirect you quickly to the page that has the shortcut. A number of shortcuts can be found here.
[edit] How to add shortcuts
Shortcuts can be created by adding #REDIRECT [[Pagename]] {{R from shortcut}} to the desired shortcut you want. You may also want to add the {{shortcut}} box to whatever article you redirected the shortcut to. To use the shortcut, replace the current link near wiki with the desired shortcut.
While shortcuts can help with linking, it is best not to use them as a title when referring to a page. For example, the link shortcuts uses a shortcut to link but gives readers an idea of the target.
