TalkShoe Phrases

At TalkShoe. Hosts may use a variety of terms that you aren't yet familiar yet, and that's okay cause this is the list of phrases most hosts commonly use. Well I know, but it should be resourceful if you don't know most of the phrases use. In the early days, TalkShoe had a lot of terms that were unfamiliar to new users. It was simplified in 2007 so most of the terms do not apply but they do include the terms that were earlier use but now depreciated. So here are the most commonly used phrases that hosts of TalkShoe use.

[ba'ed'moeu'tehin'] v.',
To say something bad about the host

[bel'le'oce'ek] v.',
To block someone from coming back on your show.

[edit] Chat

[ceh'at] n.'v.',
The chat where people can talk about stuff about the show or in their lives.

[edit] Chatmuting

[ceh'at'meu'tieng] v.',
The power to mute someone's chat so that they cannot disrupt anyone else.

[edit] Community Call

[cun'mu'ne'tie] n.',
A call where people can join in, chat and talk about the subject the host has set up.

[edit] Controls

[cun'trul,lels] n.',
The buttons that allow you to start and end the show, it also refers to the 2 icons near the users names you can use to chatmute or mute their voice.

[chu'ut'oe'eff] v.',
Where the call cuts off after a set amount of time.

[edit] Dead Air

[de'iea'aed ai'ea'eir] n.',
A place in the audio where nothing is said or heard.

[edit] Download

[dao'ewn'lao'ode] v.'
A count that someone has saved your show on his hard drive, also used as a count up in the ratings.

[geu'ue'est] n.',
A person who is not registered with TalkShoe, but can also call in and chat using the web client.

[edit] Host

[hao'sts] n.',
A person who hosts a Community Call and the guy who has all control over the call.

[edit] ID

[ei'de] n.',
A numerical number used to identify your show and also used to allow people to call into your show.

[edit] IP

[ei'pe] n.',
A numerican number used to identify a user and yourself on the internet and TalkShoe. Your IP is automaticly logged the first time you sign up for an account on TalkShoe and can be use to block you from TalkShoe if you cause any trouble.

[ien'feo] n.',
Information about something, commonly refered to as the call in info at the top or bottom.

[edit] Landline

[li'ai'en'dea'el'ien'ne] n.',
The most common way to connect to TalkShoe. It is a common way to say to use an ordinary household phone or cellphone to connect to a show.

[peo'ode'cir,riea,aieseh,hae,eir] n.',
A person who disrupts TalkShoe by flooding, spamming, and ruining shows.

[pe'ei'in] n.',
A 10 or 9 digit number used for calling into calls.

[edit] Request-To-Talk

[rea'ae'equ'uea'ae'es'et ti'iou te'eal'lek] v.',
A button on the top right requesting someone to talk which is indicated by the bubble on the right of their name.

[tal'lak'cae'este] n.',
The former name for a coummunuit call, originally planned as a huge buzz word but shelved for the more friendlier community call.

[edit] VOIP

[ve'eo'oie'iep] n.',
A acronym of Voice Over IP. It is another method to call in other then the landline.

[wea,ai,ete] v.',
To wait for the show to start, normally music or the preshow will be the wait.
