The Web Client (Launched on January 9th, 2008) allows non-members to join a community call and gives non-members most of the features of the standalone Pro client. This client is usable for the most basic purpose of hosting a podcast or joining in the chat, but beware of constant dropouts as TalkShoe's connection may vary between times.

Features:

  • Chat: TalkShoe's web client contains an IRC interface similar to the one on the Pro client. The names on the right are color-corrispondand as in the pro client. You cannot choose the color of your name, but your name does light up when mentioned in it's entirety.
  • Live Stream: The box on the bottom-left corner is the live-stream. Though it may seem like it's live, it's being recorded with a 2-second delay. If you don't want to call in then you can listen to the slightly-delayed live stream.
  • User List: On the right you'll see a user list, of who is called in, muted or chat muted. You can even click on them and a profile will load up on a seperate window. It's good for keeping track of who's there or seeing who's there.
  • Start/Stop Recording Button: The buttons on the top are used for starting and stopping the recording. It's good if you don't know the keypad command to end or start the recording.
  • Chat/Mic Muting: You can mute someone by clicking on the Phone or the Computer. The phone mutes their voice and the computer mutes their chat. Making it easy to moderate your chat.
  • Call In: The bar at the bottom contains information for calling in. It includes such information as the Phone Number. SIP IP Address, Call ID and the PIN.
